Dear Valued 1ov1 Customers,

Who is calling you from (800) 518-8888, and what you need to do today.

  • Under new regulatory guidelines, the Caller-ID must match the carrier that actually owns or carries that phone number. If it does not match, the call will be blocked.

  • These new measures apply across every phone industry and affect all phone companies.

  • Please save (800)518-8888 to your cell phone contacts.

Americans lose billions of dollars each year to Caller ID spoofing and imposter scams. In recent 12-month periods, reported losses from phone scams have reached more than $25.4 billion. (read more)

To help fight these scams and better protect consumers, phone carriers have recently added stronger security measures and compliance checks. These measures are designed to verify where each call is coming from. If the origin of a call cannot be verified, the call is blocked by the receiving carrier.

Under these new protections, the Caller-ID must match the carrier that actually owns or carries that phone number. If it does not match, the call is blocked.

Because of this change, the customer’s Caller-ID that you previously saw on your cell phone when calls were forwarded from your business, would have been blocked. Your mobile carrier would have blocked these call because they would have appeared to be coming from your business, not directly from the customer’s phone number.

These new measures apply across every phone industry and affect all phone companies.

What we have done:
To eliminate disruption, we have made changes to ensure your customer calls can still ring on your cell phone. However, the Caller ID will now display (800) 518-8888 instead of the customer’s number.

What you need to do:
Since customer calls forwarded from your business will now ring on your cell phone as (800) 518-8888, please save this number to your cell phone contacts.

If you are viewing this message on your computer, please use your cell-phone to scan the QR code below to quickly save the number to your contacts. Saving (800) 518-8888 to your contacts will help ensure these calls are not further filtered by your cellular device, since the number will match an existing contact in your phone.

We understand this has caused an inconvenience. However, we fully support these security measures because they help protect consumers and businesses from scammers.

Thank you for your understanding.
